How to Create a Video Montage

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

The more entertaining you make your marketing video, the more likely they will be passed from person to person.  Creating an entertaining video montage is much easier than you think.  You will have fun and success the first time you try it.

Start by going to http://www.onetruemedia.com

This is a free program.  You start by clicking on the Create button and adding photos to your montage. These can be photos and or videos from your computer or if you have already created montages on the One True Media site. you can select from previous photos or videos.

Once you have uploaded photos and videos, you can click on the Edit and Sequence button.  This allows you to see your uploaded videos/photos and arrange them in any order you want.  You can also add a text slide at the beginning or anywhere in your sequence of photos.  You have the ability to change fonts, sizes, etc. in the editing portion.

In the next step you want to pick your Style or template.  If you just played your uploaded photos, they would appear one after another.  By using a style or template you can create a cool mix of other images blended together.  You have about 40 different styles to choose from.  You can preview them and see which one fits the montage you are creating.  When you find one you like, click Select.

You will notice that you get different music with each style or template.  You also have the choice of picking your own music.  You will see a complete list of songs that you can use to accompany your montage. Experiment until you find a combination you like.

You can then go back and edit your sequence of photos again.  Mixing and matching the music you want for various parts of the montage.

Once you complete your montage, you can Share it.  One True Media gives you many ways to do this.  You can down load it.  You get the embedded code and URL so you can place it on your website.  You can send it to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; you can also email it.

This program is free.  They do have a paid version that costs about $39.99 per year.  With the paid version, you get fancier options for all the steps involve.  Try the free version and see what you think.  Below is a montage I created with a few vacation photos and a video.  It took me 20 minutes to create.  Enjoy and try this for yourself.
