Capturing the Heart and Soul of Your Business

People will come to your Facebook Page in one of two ways: as a Facebook participant they will land on your Wall page; as a non-Facebook participant they will land on your Landing page. (More about this in a later post). Either way, signaturephotoyou have about 10 seconds to get people’s attention and communicate quickly who you are and how you can benefit them. They will want to know in a glance what they can expect from your Facebook Page. Here’s the third writing exercise to prepare for your Page. Write a one sentence answer to each of these four questions.

What area of my expertise do I want to focus on my Facebook Page?


What do I do?

How do others benefit from my expertise and what I do?

In your answers, you can use words your customers use to describe your business. Weave key words into your answers so the search engines can find your Page. Your writing style should be personal rather than corporate. (Facebook is a social media site with the emphasis on social). A good guide to follow– answer these questions the way you would answer if a friend asked them.

Think of this exercise as preparing a 30 second commercial for the business you are promoting on your Facebook Page. Answers to these questions are the heart and soul of your business. Rework the answers several times until you feel they express the core of the business you want on Facebook.
